How to login as different user in Sharepoint Designer 2007?

When I run Sharepoint Designer it automatically connects to MOSS using my windows credentials which are configured as a normal user .     I then got a ‘you do not have permission’ error and it pops up a login dialog for me to provide the correct credentials.

here is a simple solution:
right click on the SharePoint Designer .exe (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\SPDESIGN.EXE)  and select “Run As…” and use the credentials you want..

Business Data Catalog Definition Editor tool (or “BDC tool”) is now available in the latest (August 2008) version of the downloadable MOSS 2007 SDK

Microsoft have released a tool for developing BDC XML Schems catalogs and it’s part of the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server August SDK.

Limit sharepoint announcement text character

To alter the character limit of an Announcements List, there is an attribute that must be set through SharePoint Designer on the page that contains the web part. Perform a search for the string “Limit Len=” on the page in question and alter the value to reflect the character limit you would like.The default character limit attribute is set to 250 characters.
